Oracle PIM Data Hub is functionality required by the E Business Suite. It should not cost extra. The improvements that should have been made to attribution and security of Inventory Management functionality are contained in the PIM Data Hub module.
I have been working with this software for years and I am honestly surprised that this module and its functionality is still considered an extra module and exorbitantly over charged.
This functionality has been long required by EBS users. Items have constantly ran out of DFF columns and places to put data. It is almost economic black mail what Oracle does with this module. But in my experience that is not so far fetched.
Oracle knows that this functionality is needed by Inventory Management, Order Management, Warehouse Management, and Purchasing users to say the least. Items have limited space for attribution after the DFF columns and the Catalog Groups are used. And this has been the same scenario for years.
Oracle has had record profits on applications yet they cannot afford to add this functionality to EBS without charging crazy license fees? I don’t believe it.
If there is anyone out there right now who is buying Oracle EBS or renewing licenses then you should demand PIM data hub with your base modules without extra fees. Most people who know or have actual experts helping them will do this. But the clients who cannot afford real consultants should heed my advice. And when you save the seven figure price tag please call me and give me a share of that savings. (well a little would help)
